Report: “Local Restaurant Leaders Dish About The Restaurant Business”

On Wednesday, June 13, leaders in the local restaurant industry gathered for the Greater Wilmington Business Journal Power Breakfast event at the Wilmington Convention Center in downtown Wilmington. Jessica Maurer reported on the event in a recent article from the Greater Wilmington Business Journal. In the article, Maurer writes:
“Leaders in the local restaurant industry gathered Wednesday in downtown Wilmington to discuss the challenges they face and share insights on the future of restaurants in the Port City.
Panelists at the Greater Wilmington Business Journal Power Breakfast event included Hayley Jensen, beer sommelier and co-owner of Beer Barrio; Amber Moshakos, president of LM Restaurants Inc.; Keith Rhodes, chef and owner of Catch restaurant and food truck; James Smith, owner of Fork n Cork, Smoke on the Water and Bone & Bean; and Ray Worrell, owner of Slice of Life.”
According to the article, the panelists discussed several current challenges in the restaurant industry including dietary restrictions, customer expectations, the rise of social media, a staffing crisis, and more. The panelists also discussed their plans for restaurant expansions and what it takes to be successful among the unique challenges present in the restaurant industry. Maurer reported, “At the end of the day, panelists agreed that success is built upon providing incredible experiences.”
