A Wilmington-based private school will move soon into a former art gallery on Wrightsville Avenue.Tyler Pegg, co-founder of Wilmington-based The CRESS Group of Coldwell Banker Commercial Sun Coast Partners, was involved in the transaction and said Monday that Peace Rose Montessori would soon occupy the former Walls Fine Art Gallery at 2173 Wrightsville Ave.The building is owned by David and Nancy Leadman, who live in West Virginia, said Dennis Musser, a local commercial broker who connected Peace Rose owner Amanda Cordova with the CRESS Group and the Leadmans.

Pegg, along with The CRESS Group co-founder Cody Cress, represented the Peace Rose during the December transaction for an undisclosed amount.

Peace Rose officials had to seek a special use permit for the site since the property fell on split office and institutional and community business zoning.

Cordova said at a Feb. 18 city council meeting that school is currently leasing space from Trinity United Methodist Church but added that the school’s growing enrollment has prompted officials to look for larger space.

The city council approved the special use permit request.

Cordova said the school would upfit the new space and hopes to move into the facility in the coming months.
