Business Journal, Wilma Move to New QuartersBy Jenny Callison, Posted Nov 13, 2013
After more than a decade of growth in downtown Wilmington, sister publications Greater Wilmington Business Journal and Wilma magazine are relocating to larger office space in the Mayfaire area.
SAJ Media, the parent company of both publications, will occupy about 3,700 square feet of space at 219 Station Road, near the intersection of Station and Military Cutoff roads. Publisher Rob Kaiser said the new quarters would increase the company’s efficiency and provide room for increased growth and visibility.
The company plans to open in its new space Dec. 2, after vacating its original location at 130 N. Front St.
“Wilmington’s business community has been incredibly supportive as our company has expanded our print publications, online offerings and in-person events,” Kaiser said in an email. “We’re excited to move to a larger space that will allow us to further grow our coverage and offerings to the local community.”
Cody Cress and Tyler Pegg of Coldwell Banker Commercial Sun Coast Partners represented SAJ Media during the leasing transaction. Patrick Riley of Maus Warwick Matthews and Co. represented the building’s owner.
The Greater Wilmington Business Journal was founded by Joy Allen in 2000. Three years later she launched Wilma, Wilmington’s magazine for women. Kaiser purchased the two publications in 2007. Earlier this year, Robert Preville bought into the company and assumed the position of president. Kaiser remains publisher.
